Leaked divorce court documents reveal Heard's financial woes
The financial woes of Johnny Depp's estranged wife Amber Heard have been revealed in court documents, which show her losing significant sums and demanding $50,000 (€45,000) a month from the actor.
Ms Heard (30) filed for divorce from Mr Depp on May 23. He is currently in Europe, promoting 'Alice Through The Looking Glass', and touring with his band.
She has accused him of domestic violence - something his friends and representatives have strongly denied, hitting back by claiming she has made the accusations to gain a greater share of his fortune.
And court documents leaked yesterday shed some light on her request for spousal support, and the expected battle over his $400m fortune.
The documents show that she makes roughly $120,000 per year from her business interests, before receiving payment for any films she might appear in. Among those payments are fees from jewellery brands, with $120,000 from Tiffany and $50,000 from Bulgari.
She also made money from television appearances, with the documents showing a payment of $456 from 'The Late Late Show', hosted by James Corden. The actress is currently working on a comedy entitled 'What's The Point', which has earned her $6,716.79 so far.
Her basic monthly income, the records show, is around $10,000 - but she spends almost $44,000 a month on "basic expenses".
This includes $10,000 a month on rent, another $10,000 a month on "entertainment, gifts and vacations", $2,000 on clothes, $2,000 a month on eating out and $300 on laundry and dry cleaning.
The actress also spent $2,000 on car expenses and transport. Her red Dodge Charger was photographed in Los Angeles, still parked outside Mr Depp's West Hollywood home.
She also spends another $10,000 a month on miscellaneous costs such as pet supplies, and paying for her publicist and agent. PR is by far her biggest expense, with $14,250 allocated.
Her lawyer, Samantha Spector, is being paid $550 an hour to represent her in her divorce from Mr Depp.
Last year, her expenditure was less. She reported a total income, including cash from her film work and promotions, of $250,000 while her expenditure was $209,000, leaving her a small profit.
She also has $25,000 of savings in the bank and is still making residual fees from her roles in 'The Rum Diaries' and 'Magic Mike XXL'.
The couple are getting divorced in California, a state which divides marital assets using the "community property" method. This means a judge will simply divide a couple's joint assets equally while allowing the individuals to retain inherited and premarital assets. It has been suggested that Ms Heard would be in line for a minimum payout of $15m - the equivalent of $1m for every month they were married.
