'Fugitive' McAfee to ask for asylum in Guatemala

SOFTWARE company founder John McAfee (pictured) has surfaced in public for the first time in weeks, saying that he plans to seek asylum in Guatemala because he fears persecution in Belize.

He is now in Guatemala City. Police in neighbouring Belize went to contact Mr McAfee about the slaying of a fellow American ex-pat there in November but say there is no warrant for his arrest.
