Twelve children have been injured after a vehicle crashed into a day care centre in Florida.

Fifteen people were injured in total, including a dozen children.

Authorities say they have located the vehicle believed to be involved in the crash.

The vehicle was a silver Dodge Durango.

The Durango reportedly smashed into another vehicle that then struck the KinderCare building.

The Durango then left the scene.

Orange County rescue reported at least 12 children to have been transported to Orlando area hospitals.

There were 50 children in the building at the time.
