Dalai Lama cancels US appearances after health check-up
The Dalai Lama has cancelled US appearances next month following a check-up, the University of Colorado says.
It was told of the cancellations on Friday by the Office of Tibet in Washington. He had been scheduled to appear there on October 20.
The office, which represents the Dalai Lama in North America, said doctors advised the 80-year-old holy leader to rest and that he would return to India.
A secretary to the Dalai Lama, Chime Rigzin, told The Associated Press on Thursday that the Dalai Lama had been to Minnesota's Mayo Clinic for a "routine annual health check-up" and had had no health complaints.
