POLICE in Colombia have made one of the biggest cocaine seizures in history - with seven tons of the drug being confiscated.

The drug was found in a container which was meant to contain pineapple pulp.

It is believed that the container was due to be shipped to the Netherlands.

Defense Minister Juan Carlos Pinzon hailed the huge blow against the country's drug gangs as a "historic seizure".

No one has been arrested in connection with the seizure.

Although the purity of the seizure is yet to be revealed, it is believed the drug could have a potential street value of over €2bln.
