Baby boy (1) dies after being shot in his face
A ONE-YEAR-OLD boy has died after being shot in the head in a notorious neighbourhood in the New York borough of Brooklyn.
Police say that Antiq Hennis was being wheeled in a pushchair by his mother and father who were crossing a street in Brownsville at about 7.20pm local time on Sunday when shots were fired. Authorities said that the child was raced to Brookdale University Hospital with a gunshot wound to the left side of his face, but did not survive his injuries. He was declared dead at the hospital.
Media speculated that the child's father, who has a police record, could have been the intended target. A dispute reportedly broke out which ended with shots.
Police have not made any arrests and have not released any other preliminary details from their investigation. Residents have bombarded community activists with names and tip-offs, frustrated at crime in the area. (© Daily Telegraph, London)
