It all erupted after policemen tried to separate the family for questioning. During the violent exchange, which can be viewed above, 21-year-old Enoch Gaver disarmed a police officer and shot him in the leg while laying on top of him.

Another police officer, who was hitting Mr Gaver with a baton, then got his gone and shot Mr Gaver who was later pronounced dead.

Police arrested  Peter Gaver(55), Ruth Gaver (52), Nathan Gaver (27) and Jeremiah Gaver (29) for various charges including  aggravated assault, resisting arrest and hindering prosecution.

During the altercation David Gaver was shot in the abdomen but has since left hospital and an other Wal-Mart employee who had tried to help suffered a broken arm.

Some of the Gaver family are well-known in the small community for playing in a Christian band called Matthew 22 Now.
