Community in shock as young woman 'murdered, decapitated and fed to cannibalism ring'
A community have been left in shock after a young woman was murdered and decapitated.
Zanele Hlatshwayo (25) was missing since July and her family believe she fell victim to a cannibalism ring in South Africa.
According to the BBC, the young woman's decomposed body was found after a traditional healer handed himself into police and produced a hand and a foot.
He allegedly told police that he was tired of eating human flesh.
He led them to his rented home, where police found eight human ears in a cooking pot.
According to the BBC, he served human remains to customers as part of a healing process, where customers were told that the remains had magic properties and would convey money, power and protection.
Ms Hlatshwayo's bloodied and torn clothes were found among the human remains in the traditional healer's home.
Five men involved in the cannibalism ring, who were arraigned in court on Monday, amid public protests outside the courtroom, abandoned their bail request and will make another court appearance at the end of September.
