Actors have run-in with 'maniac' ram

Actors Kevin Bishop and Kris Marshall grappled with a "homicidal" sheep on the set of their new film.

The pair star in comedy 'A Few Best Men', about a group of British friends who go to Australia to be best men at their friend's wedding, and have a run-in with the father of the bride's pet ram. The pair had to grapple with the ram in one scene. Marshall said: "There were two rams. The first was a homicidal maniac. These things are about 200 pounds."

Athletics official killed by javelin

A javelin thrower accidentally killed a sports official at a German athletics meeting.

Police in Dusseldorf said the 74-year-old man died in hospital after being hit in the throat. A spokesman said they had opened an investigation into the death but that initial indications were it had been a "tragic accident".

A mountain lion has been caught after trying to slip into a casino in Reno, Nevada.

Guests at Harrah's reported seeing the big cat trying to walk in and, when it failed to negotiate the revolving door, hiding under an outdoor stage. Wildlife officers tranquillised it and released it into the wild after tagging it for a research project.

Mr Sanford confirmed that he is engaged to Maria Belen Chapur, an intensely private divorced woman whose affair with the married Republican father of four became tabloid news three years ago and derailed his career.
