18 schoolchildren killed in bus crash
At least 20 people, including 18 schoolchildren, have been killed in a road accident in southern Pakistan, a government official said today.
Deputy Commissioner Aleem Lashari said a school bus on a day trip collided head-on with a rubbish truck in Nawab Shah district.
He said 19 other people, including 15 children, were injured in the crash.
Mr Lashari said the cause of the incident was not yet clear but the road where it happened has a sharp turn, which has caused accidents in the past
Bad road infrastructure and poor driving often cause accidents in Pakistan.
Government minister Sharjeel Memon said authorities are investigating.
