Backstage presenter Eoghan McDermott gave her an unscripted passionate kiss onstage as part of a choreographed routine to Dirty Dancing's Time of My Life.

It's not every day that you get to kiss one of the biggest television stars in Ireland, but Eoghan McDermott knows a good opportunity when he sees one. The up and coming broadcaster managed to shock the unshakable Kathryn Thomas live on air as he dramatically dipped her and took the chance to play the joker by giving her a huge kiss.

During last night's final of The Voice of Ireland, the hosts had choreographed a fun routine to Dirty Dancing's Time of My Life, and a visibly stunned Kathryn was left gob smacked when her co-host planted a smooch.

And, as usual, she was the consummate professional and continued on her presenting duties as normal, despite the impromptu kiss. Show bosses pulled out all the stops for a final to remember last night, and Kathryn clearly got caught up in the excitement

During Shane McLoughlin's performance of The Walls' Brewing up a Storm, the Carlow presenter made her way on-stage to dance and couldn't help but laugh hysterically afterwards at her own spontaneity. Bressie even joked that she gave him the best entertainment he's had all year with her unforgettable moves - which included The Monkee.

Meanwhile, Cork teenager Keith Hanley, who was mentored by Jamelia, was crowned the lucky winner last night.

Sharon Corr and Kathryn Thomas
Sharon Corr and Kathryn Thomas
Week One: One of her best looks yet. Here, she wears a Warehouse dress with a gold neckpiece by Cooee Design and a cuff from Loulerie in Dublin 2.
The dress that got the nation talking. While we love Sharon's fashion experiments, this Harlow and Harvey piece hit a bum note with us. Winner: Kathryn
Week two: Kathryn does casual cool to perfection. She's representing Irish in Don O'Neill's Theia Couture line and it shows off her ever-so-slender frame.
Sharon's metallic dress leaves a lot to be desired, but extra point for her chainmail necklace. Winner: Kathryn
Week three: Not her best look, but major kudos for experimenting. Kathryn wears a Karen Millen neon yellow dress and black heels, but her hair leaves us feeling a little bit flat.
We love this swinging 60s style shift dress, the big hair and white peep toe heels are fun and fabulous. Winner: Sharon
Week Four: How to be a babe on a budget. We love this asymmetric dress from Boohoo.com, and her nude shoes elongate her legs.
Week four: Style star Sharon Corr wears a Lennon/Courtney dress, and epitomises elegance. Winner: This one was tight, but we give it toSharon
Kathryn rocks this sequin skirt and peplum dress. We love!
While the sheer teal skirt shows off her slender legs, we're not major fans of her butterfly peplum top. The coral shoes balance the colour palette. Winner: Kathryn
The Voice semi-final: 'Curlgate' on The Voice was one of the most talked about styles of television this year. Her Zara dress is simply stunning as are her Loulerie accessories.
Semi-finals: Sharon wears an incredible yellow dress from John Rocha's new autumn/winter collection. Her flawless hair and makeup are the perfect complements to the elegant ensemble. Winner: Sharon, hands down. She looks sensational.
At this year's VVIPs, she rocked a Joanne Hynes necklace, LBD and fur coat. The oversized bun does little to show off her naturally pretty face, but shows her embellished neckpiece to perfection.
For a Late Late Show appearance, Sharon is furry and fabulous. Simple elegance. Winner: Sharon
A yellow dress is the must-have wardrobe item in your wardrobe this season and Kathryn's clingy number earns major style points.
We love a good LBD with the rest of them, but we can't help lean towards Kathryn's previous colourful number. Winner: Kathryn
Kathryn wears a sequinned dress by Australian designer Rachel Gilbert, from rental store Frock 'n Fabulous, with jewellery from Loulerie and shoes by Carvela.
Sharon was perfectly pretty in pink in a flowing, tulle dress by Betsey Johnson.

The 19-year-old from Charleville said he was shocked when they announced his name. "I was in a daze, I was so shocked. Obviously, Kelly was the favourite and delivered an incredible vocal/ So when they read my name, I couldn't believe it."
