Jennifer Lawrence was thinking of cake during Oscars fall
Jennifer Lawrence fell over at last year's Oscars because she was too busy thinking about cake.
The 23-year-old actress suffered the embarrassing slip when she went to receive the Academy Award for best actress for her role in Silver Linings Playbook.
But Jennifer now confesses she was focusing on advice her stylist had given her about the Dior Couture gown she was wearing. But it turns out she had misheard the tip.
"I was at the Oscars, waiting to hear if my name was called, and I kept thinking 'Cakewalk, cakewalk, cakewalk'. I thought, Why is 'cakewalk' stuck in my head?
"And then, as I started to walk up the stairs and the fabric from my dress tucked under my feet, I realised my stylist had told me, 'Kick, walk, kick, walk.' You are supposed to kick the dress out while you walk, and I totally forgot because I was thinking about cake! And that's why I fell," Jennifer laughed to W magazine.
Jennifer is currently gracing the cover of the magazine's latest Movie issue, which also features Matthew McConaughey, Amy Adams and Lupita Nyong'o on other front pages.
Matthew's latest movie Dallas Buyers Club tells the true story of an electrician suffering with AIDS, and his fight to help other sufferers get the medication they needed.
The film has won high praise from critics, and is in the running to receive an Oscar at this year's ceremony.
"I wanted to shake up my relationship with my career. I didn't want to do romantic comedies or action adventures anymore, so when those projects came in I said no," Matthew admitted.
"For about eight months, I kept saying no, no, no - and then there was nothing being offered to say no to. That was scary, but I was looking to be scared. Finally, the target drew the arrow: I started getting calls to play characters. And here we are."
