Holly struts down the catwalk with Top Model pals after plane scare
MODEL Holly Carpenter had a hair raising moment when her plane experienced an aborted landing.
The long-limbed model flew in to the UK to be reunited with her Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model housemates for the annual Clothes Show in Birmingham over the weekend.
It may sound all glamour but getting over to the roadshow wasn't exactly plain sailing. Holly's flight nearly careered into the runway after it was blown off course.
"The plane had a bumpy landing, it came down sideways on the runway so had to go back into the air.
"It was really scary, I was praying on the plane but thankfully it landed ok in the end," she said.
The incident didn't stop Holly and her svelte friends from pouting and posing on the catwalk during the four-day event.
However, there were some notable absences, namely leather clad supermodel Elle MacPherson and the rest of the BINTM series producers.
"Elle isn't here," Holly told the Diary. "But that's the nice thing about the Clothes Show -- none of the producers are here."
Hmmm -- just who could Holly be referring to?
The 22-year-old and fellow flame haired model Sarah Kennedy had a number of on screen clashes during the course of the series. And it seems the girls still don't see eye to eye.
"I love all the girls, there's only one of them I don't talk to and that's Sarah," she said. "We're both very civil to one another -- we have to be, we're getting changed beside each other so we need to be professional. But we don't really chat." Meow.
But Holly loved getting the chance to catch up with her pals.
"I have a really close bond with them because I lived with them for five weeks so they're almost like family. We can just pick up where we left off," she said.
"Saffron is my best friend so it's great to be back and hanging out with her. We're all staying in the same hotel so it's been great going for a few drinks and catching up with the girls."
The BINTM girls weren't the only celebs to attend the sartorial show down. Posh toffs and Made in Chelsea stars Ollie Locke, Andy Jordan and Caggie Dunlop were also there.
"I'm a massive Made in Chelsea fan, so I couldn't believe it when I saw them," Holly said. "Andy has his own label called Jam and lived in Malahide for a few years so I was talking to him about that.
"We all went out for a wrap party to this club called Gatecrashers -- it was amazing," she added.
