VIDEO: Watch Simon Cowell struggling to put baby seat in back of car

He managed to conquer the music industry but superstar businessman Simon Cowell isn’t finding that baby duties are coming to him as easily.

The new dad had a spot of trouble when loading his newborn son’s baby seat into his car on a busy street.

The multi-millionaire fidgeted as he struggled to fit the seat into the back of his vehicle and the paparazzi were on hand to capture his daddy troubles.

The 54-year-old at first was putting the seat in the wrong way round but his bodyguard stepped in and gave him directions to place it in the correct position.

Baby Eric was nestled comfortably in a white knitted cardigan as his dad twirled the car seat around.

After several attempts, Cowell appeared to give up and let his assistant check that the plush Cybex Aton car seat was securely in place.

The baby-duty mishap happened during a trip to New York.

The X Factor judge was joined by his partner Lauren Silverman, who gave birth to his baby boy on Valentine's Day.

The mum politely replied that her baby was doing well when quizzed by paparazzi.

Simon looked relaxed as he carried his bundle of joy around Manhattan, wearing a long navy coat, oversized sunglasses and his signature white T-shirt.

Mum-of-two Silverman wore similar attire to her music mogul partner with a white top, denim jeans and a long black coat.

She carried a Bottega Veneta baby bag with all of Eric’s baby needs in tow.

The parents have also been spotted on a Miami beach with their baby boy and a small entourage.

The parents were surrounded by almost a dozen photographers as they strolled along a white sandy beach with their Yorkshire Terriers, Squiddly and Diddly.

Cowell found himself in trouble with the police over bringing his dogs to the public area.

The dog lover apparently called in the services of an expert to make sure his pets didn't feel left out by the arrival of Eric.
