Troubled Lindsay Lohan arrested for allegedly punching woman in a New York nightclub
TROUBLED actress Lindsay Lohan has been arrested in New York City for allegedly punching a woman in a Manhattan nightclub.
According to showbiz website TMZ, the flame-haired actress (26) was apprehended by officers at 4am this morning after getting into an argument with a female reveller, which then turned physical.
Police were contacted after claims that the ‘Mean Girls’ star assaulted the other woman.
A source said that the pair were sitting in separate booths near each other in the club.
Feisty Lindsay then said to the other woman: “Give me my space”, before allegedly striking a blow. She remains in the police station in NYC as they investigate the incident.
But this isn’t the only legal nightmare facing the young starlet. She arrived back in New York City from Los Angeles last week, and is expected to face a judge within the next few days where it’s thought that her probation could be revoked.
The star will reportedly be charged for lying to police about being behind the wheel during a car accident with a truck on the Pacific Coast Highway last June.
Although she originally claimed her assistant Gavin Doyle was the one driving her Porsche at the time of the crash, he later told police it was in fact, Lindsay who was behind the wheel.
Sources have said that Santa Monica City Attorney will be ready to file a criminal case over the next few days, and it will then go to Los Angeles County Superior Court judge Jane Godfrey for arraignment.
The insiders said that once Lindsay is charged, Judge Godfrey will revoke her probation and schedule a full hearing to about the alleged violation. She could even face “significant jail time” after lying to the police.
She has been on probation since being found guilty of stealing a necklace in July 201, for which she was sentenced to 120 days in prison and 480 hours of community service.
The star recently cancelled a number of press interviews on the advice of her new PR team after a tough few months. As well as all her legal issues, she also accused mother Dina Lohan of taking cocaine and foil an intervention attempt by her father Michael Lohan.
In recent week the actress has being doing a lot of promotion for her Lifetime TV movie about the life of Elizabeth Taylor - but has refused to answer any questions about the case.
