Keeping up with the Joneses is never easy. Especially when your neighbours are some of Ireland's wealthiest rock, stage and screen stars.

But 19-year-old actress Saoirse Ronan should fit right into her new neighbourhood.

The Hanna star has taken her first step on to the property ladder and bought a home in Howth.

The Carlow native has gone for a three -bedroom terrace in residential area Thormanby Grove. She reportedly paid around €334,000 for the house.

With its cliffside walks and panoramic views of Dublin Bay, the fishing village is popular with Irish A-listers.

Larry Mullen owns a beach-front home and Riverdance creators Moya Doherty and John McColgan live near the Bailey lighthouse on 4.5 acres of land.

Gay Byrne also used to live in the area but relocated closer to the city centre in the past years. Dolores O'Riordan, from the Cranberries, has lived in the area for years.

Celebrity chef Donal Skehan is Howth born and bred and loves nothing more than taking his dog Max for bracing walks along the coast.

While some of the bigger name celebs may have impressive mansions with sweeping lawns and breathtaking views, Saoirse's gone for a much more modest abode with a simple three-bed.
