Silence over the future of Dublin Wives? C'mon TV3!

Are you ready to be heartbroken? TV3's hit reality show Dublin Wives doesn't appear to be coming back any time soon, if at all. My TV tell-tale tells me that neither the stars of the show nor Straywave, which produced the show, have heard anything from TV3 about a new series.

"No one has heard one way or the other about its re-commissioning. It's the silence on the matter that would prompt me to believe that it won't be coming back," said my source.

Sadly, TV3 is missing the drama that's currently happening with the girls. The recent spat between Jo Jordan and Danielle Meagher – culminating in Jo calling Dr Botox a Miss Piggy lookalike – was surely TV gold. Perhaps a scene that would have won both of them an IFTA Award? TV3, buck up.

My spies at the Abbey Theatre, meanwhile, tell me that English legend Paul McGann was over in Dublin on Wednesday. My Thesp Throat informs me that McGann, who once played the title role in Dr Who, was finalising details for his lead in an upcoming Abbey Theatre production.
