Priestley to judge doughnut contest
Jason Priestley has been signed up as the celebrity guest judge in a national Canadian doughnut competition.
The 43-year-old actor and director recently made a guest appearance on hit show How I Met Your Mother in which he bragged about creating a doughnut called "The Priestley".
Canadian coffee and doughnut chain Tim Hortons recreated the doughnut in his honour - an iced, strawberry and vanilla doughnut stuffed with a Timbit, which is a deep-fried dough ball, or doughnut hole.
Now the company have launched the Duelling Donuts Contest, which will award 10,000 dollars to the best new doughnut design.
Jason will head the judging panel to help choose eight finalists and then Canada will vote for the winner.
The former Beverly Hills 90210 star said in a statement: "I think all Canadians have a favourite Tim Hortons doughnut, but I bet many also have a flavour that they dreamed of having as well.
"My Tim Hortons dream doughnut became a reality, and now another lucky Tim Hortons fan could see theirs come to life, too. It will be fun to see how well contestants know their dough."
Tim Hortons is also the same coffee chain that made Ryan Gosling his very own mug, after he said in an interview that he was hoping his appearance in action blockbuster Gangster Squad would get him his own movie merchandise at last.
