Pregnant Halle Berry says her baby is 'a miracle'
46-year-old actress is expecting her second child believed to be a boy with Olivier Martinez.
The actress united with other celebrities yesterday afternoon to rally support for the fight against women's cancers at the 20th Annual Entertainment Industry Foundation/Revlon Run/Walk in Los Angeles.
The 46-year-old took a moment out from the event to reflect on what her pregnancy means to her.
"I'm thinking that this is a miracle," Halle said to ET Online. "I feel really happy. It's one of the best things that happened in my life, for sure."
In April, rumours surfaced that Halle was expecting a boy with her fiancé Olivier Martinez. This will be Halle's second child as she already has a daughter, five-year-old Nahla, from a previous relationship. The Oscar-winning actress stressed how important it is for her to actively help raise funds for research to combat cancers.
"I've been touched by cancer in my life. I've lost loved ones," Halle said. "I've [known] women that have beaten the battle, so I'm encouraged by that. I think it's important to be a part of raising money and help raising awareness. It's women helping women and I really, really love that."
Halle co-hosted the charity event with actress Julie Bowen. The Modern Family star also took the opportunity to encourage people to participate in fund raisers.
"It's really important that people continue to support these 'un-sexy' diseases," Julie said. "It's not new. It's not bird flu; it's not SARS, and it still hasn't been cured and it kills millions and millions of women every year."
