Her wedding day was the highlight of the social summer calendar, held in the lavish surrounds of the Ritz Carlton Hotel, the service and after-party were even the subject of a fly-on-the-wall television show.

But despite the pomp and ceremony, Pippa O'Connor has her head screwed on.

The financially savvy model has posted up her designer wedding dress on a website for second-hand dresses to recoup some money on the gown. Posting to, the prudent bride is selling the gown for €3,000 – or nearest offer.

Pippa, who recently became a mother, describes the Monique Lhuillier creation, which she purchased new for €5,500, as "absolutely breath-taking".

She writes: "With a beautifully fitted sweet-heart neck line, fitted waist with a full princess-look skirt, the dress is very light and comfortable despite the big skirt."

Adding: "I bought the jewelled belt separately. Can be purchased also if interested."

Describing how the gown was "made to measure by Monique Lhuillier in LA", she says it was originally designed with sleeves "but I had it made without them as I thought it was more appropriate for our summer wedding".

Speaking about her decision to sell the dress, she said: "I'm not sentimental about things like that so I'm happy to sell it, it's such a beautiful dress and it would be a shame to just have lying at home."

Any interested bride would want to have her figure in top condition for the day, as the 5ft 9in bride says: "It was bought in a size 10 and altered at the waist later on, now making it a size 8. Bust size worn by bride 34c".

Pippa recently stunned guests at the VIP Awards when she stepped out having shed all her baby weight in just two weeks.

And she let the Sunday Independent in on the secret of how she bounced back to her model size: "I obviously haven't had time to do any exercise since Ollie, but breast feeding definitely helps.

"I was quite healthy during pregnancy, but I definitely ate more.

"Before I became pregnant I'd have three meals a day but I had three meals and lots of snacks while pregnant. I felt hungry and faint if not."

For her pregnancy meal plan, she says: "I'd have porridge, a snack would be yogurt and fruit, lunch would be soup and a wrap then maybe nuts and cheese then for dinner a chicken stir fry and rice.

"I would always have chocolate and tea in the evenings. So I definitely ate a lot more."

But after wowing guests at the annual style awards, she revealed: "I'm still eating like that now as I'm starving from the breast feeding. I put on two stone and I lost a stone-and-a-half of that in the first week. "I don't feel pressure, truthfully, maybe in a few months I would like to tone up my tummy but I really don't care. I'm too obsessed with Ollie to worry about that."

She's not the only new mother that has been spotted out looking svelte recently.

Amy Huberman slipped into a pair of tiny shorts at her new shoe launch after getting back to her pre-baby weight in a matter of weeks.
