MILEY Cyrus has been tweeting her upset after her beloved pet dog passed away.

The ‘Bangerz’ singer's dog Floyd, an Alaskan Klee Kai she got in 2011, died while she was away on tour.

She wrote: “I don't wanna say it because I don't want it to be real... But my precious baby Floyd has passed away.

“I am broken. I know I don't mean it but I wish he would've taken me with him this is unbearable.”

'What am I gonna do without him? I am miserable.'

She then shared some pictures of her time with the dog.

Despite her loss, the singer insisted on performing the Boston date of her world tour – however tweeted fans she may be distracted.

“I'm sorry in advance if I am not myself tomorrow Boston. I will try my best to be my best”.

Shortly after the hashtag #RIPFloyd was trending on Twitter, as her fans showed their support.

It’s the second sudden loss of a pet for the star in just two years – in 2012 she lost her Yorkshire Terrier Lila, who was just two.

She tweeted at the time: “For everyone asking... I have never been so hurt in my life. My heart has never been so broken..... Lila my sweet baby girl has passed away.”

The singer is known to love her pets – it was even reported that as part of her pre-nup with former fiance Liam Hemsworth was that she would get to keep the pets.
