Lindsay Lohan facing fresh accusations after road traffic accident
Lindsay Lohan is facing a fresh civil suit following a road traffic accident.
The 27-year-old actress rear-ended an 18-wheel truck on the Pacific Coast Highway in June 2012.
TMZ is reporting the semi-truck driver has now filed a civil case against her.
According to the website James Johnson “claims he was injured and suffered great physical, mental and nervous pain”. He is seeking “unspecified damages” against the actress for his alleged pain and suffering.
Lindsay was indicted for reckless driving, obstructing or resisting a police officer in the performance of his duty and giving false information to authorities.
The troubled actress left rehab at the end of July, following a 90-day court-ordered stint in relation to the car crash.
Lindsay’s assistant Gavin Doyle was also in the vehicle during the wreck and he received minor injuries. At first she allegedly told police that Gavin was driving her rented Porsche at the time of the accident, but he later refuted the claims.
According to TMZ, “cops discovered pills in her purse and a water bottle that reeked of booze” on the scene of the crash.
Lindsay and her representatives have yet to comment on the matter. It is also unknown when she is due to meet James in court.
Since exiting the Cliffside Malibu centre she's vowed to clean up her act and has been receiving guidance from talk show host Oprah Winfrey.
But New York Daily News reported Lindsay may be headed in the wrong direction, as she was spotted at Sing Sing Karaoke bar with "drunken" friends recently.
