Katie Holmes hints that she may quit acting
Katie Holmes has hinted she would like to follow her family into practicing law and may retire from acting...
After her divorce Katie took some time away from the limelight to concentrate on looking after Suri. Her career return came with a turn on stage in the Broadway play Dead Accounts, which opened to mixed reviews. Its run was eventually cancelled early, but Katie has no regrets.
"I was open to – well, to whoever wanted me," she explained. "But it was always my goal to make it back to the stage."
The brunette star looks sultry in the accompanying images, boasting smokey eye make-up and slicked-back hair. She shows off her slim frame in a stunning black swimsuit with includes mesh detailing.
She also touched on rumours that she is planning a huge life change. It has been speculated the star wants to retire from acting and train to become a lawyer, which she has refused to rule out.
"Well, my brother and father are attorneys, and – we’ll see. I like the practical thinking of attorneys," she admitted.
The actress has six-year-old daughter Suri with her ex-husband Tom Cruise, who she split from last year. Although she is currently single the 34-year-old won't rule out expanding her brood in the future.
"I don’t know. I’m open to it," she told Allure magazine, when asked about becoming a mother again.
Although the actress doesn't talk about her high-profile marriage breakdown in the interview, she does give an insight into how it affected her.
The star was quizzed on her plans for the coming year and gave a simple answer. "[I want it to be] a peaceful year for a lot of people," she said. "[I'm hoping] it's a good year for everyone."
Katie and Tom were married for five years before their split last June and their divorce was finalised less than a month later.
