Grammer: Sideshow Bob is a survivor
Kelsey Grammer has revealed that his Simpsons character, Sideshow Bob, can never be killed off.
The Simpsons producers have announced that one of the major characters will die later this season, but t he Frasier star, who has voiced the curly-haired villainous character on the hit animated show for 23 years, reckoned his alter-ego will survive the chop.
"Not to my knowledge," he told TMZ.
"He'll come back. They've already killed him 20 times! He comes back alive," he added.
The Simpsons' executive producer Al Jean dropped the news that a Springfield resident will be killed off in October as the 25th series premiered in the US.
He told Canada's The Sun News: "I'll give you a clue that the actor playing the character won an Emmy for playing that character, but I won't say who it is."
Dan Castellaneta, Hank Azaria, Nancy Cartwright and Yeardley Smith are among the stars who have won Emmy awards for their respective roles as Homer, Apu, Bart and Lisa.
But Kelsey, Anne Hathaway (Princess Penelope) and Julie Kavner (Marge's mum Jacqueline) have also won gongs for their voice performances in the show.
Sideshow Bob, who made his debut in Springfield in 1990 as the non-speaking sidekick to Krusty the Clown, later unveiled his darker side as a criminal mastermind.
