Gosling doppleganger sparks frenzy
Ryan Gosling's fans are said to have been duped by a lookalike in Detroit, where the Hollywood star has been filming How To Catch A Monster.
Radio show 95.5's Mojo In The Morning said that co-host Spike found Doug, a tax accountant in Detroit, and put him in a hoodie and t-shirt to appear as the heartthrob.
They walked through the streets of Detroit, complete with camera crew, as dozens of women were seen cosying up to the star for pictures, with one saying "I'm going to faint!" and another commenting "You're so beautiful".
According to reports, police even had to stop the traffic as a result of the hoax.
Ryan recently apologised to fans in Cannes for not attending the premiere of his latest film Only God Forgives because he was in Detroit shooting his directorial debut, starring Saoirse Ronan, Eva Mendes, Matt Smith and Christina Hendricks.
