Rory McIlroy will walk up the aisle with his tennis pro fiancee Caroline Wozanicki this August.
Independent.ie can exclusively reveal the Northern Irish golfing superstar is set to marry his Danish fiancee at the end of the summer.
The pair have been engaged since New Year's Day, when they announced the exciting news on Twitter.
A source close to the couple confirmed the wedding plans, which will take place abroad.
"Rory is marrying Caroline in late August," the insider explained.
"They've only been engaged a few months, but they're both keen to make it official and are a planning a spectacular day for guests. They're keeping their invite list under wraps for now for security reasons because it includes some A-list superstars from around the world."
Despite the source's confirmation of the wedding date, top golfer McIlroy has denied reports his wedding date is this coming summer.
Nearly 200 celebrities from the world of sport, politics and music are set to descend on the mystery location later this year.
Last month, she told Lime magazine she would like to start a family with her fiancé.
“I want to be a relatively young mother, and I do not see it as being too far in the future,” the 23-year-old told the publication.
“Therefore I have no dream to make my mark. Instead, I enjoy economic freedom my hard work has given me.
“It means I can give my children the best start in life by being there 100 per cent for them.”
Caroline currently stands at No 14 in the world rankings.
