Elvis Costello and his attractions are OK with Krall

WELL, they were bound to strike up a chord. Rocker Elvis Costello and jazz babe Diana Krall, that is. They met at the Grammy awards in LA last year when they both presented an award, and by this year's awards in February were arm in arm.

What a difference a year makes! Elvis and his former greatest attraction, Cait O'Riordan, separated last September after 16 years together, when friends said they just drifted apart. Elvis met Cait when he produced her former band the Pogues in 1986. And last year Diana, who grew up in British Columbia in Canada, split up with her boyfriend of two years, screenwriter John Paul Bernbach.

Elvis and Diana were also together at a London benefit in February when they performed a steamy duet of Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word. (Indeed.) And last month at a gala in New York, Diana turned heads in a low-cut brown jacket and Gucci mini-skirt while Elvis and his band the Attractions were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Elvis, 47, who lives in Dublin, has been hanging out a lot in Manhattan's trendy Greenwich Village, where Diana, 38, lives. It must be another good year for the roses, then.
