DiCaprio sacrifices love for career
Leonardo DiCaprio has admitted his successful Hollywood career makes it difficult to hold down a relationship.
The 38-year-old Great Gatsby star has dated a string of beauties - most recently Victoria's Secret model Erin Heatherton who he split from last November - but told Esquire spending months away on movie locations was not good for his love life.
Leonardo, who was with Erin for around a year, confessed: "Six months of being on location or being off in Morocco or someplace like that is not the best thing for a relationship."
But the Inception star insisted it is a sacrifice he is willing to make, as he is determined to put his all into his acting career.
Leo said: "You have to understand - getting your foot in the door is like winning the lottery. It's literally like winning the lottery if you get to have a career.
"And if I don't do this to the best of my ability - if I don't work my a** off and make a life of it - I've squandered this incredibly golden opportunity."
The Hollywood heartthrob said he previously worried that he was the "underdog" but he is now at a place in his life where he feels comfortable in his own skin.
He said: "Most recently, the last few years, I feel way more comfortable than I've ever felt...
"It's a resignation to life and who you are. Hey, look, I'm pretty well-formed as an adult now. I don't have to impress anybody."
