Charlize Theron is “very happy” with boyfriend Sean Penn.

The Oscar-winning actress began dating fellow Academy Award recipient Sean at the beginning of 2014. The pair had been friends for years before deciding to take their relationship to the next level, and Charlize couldn’t be more thrilled with the way things have turned out.

“I am very happy. I will say that… I'm very happy. I'm not very good at talking about my private life, but we are very happy, yes,” she told Extra at the premiere of her new film, A Million Ways to Die in the West.

The 38-year-old looked stunning on the red carpet in a black Dior gown, with her beau on her arm.

While the 53-year-old Milk actor will no doubt have been thrilled by how beautiful his girlfriend looked, Charlize revealed how impressed another man in her life was by her outfit: her two-year-old son Jackson.

“He definitely notices when I’m in a dress, because I don’t dress in a lot of dresses. There’s always a little moment when he goes, ‘Mama pretty,’” she added to the outlet.

Charlize’s admission about her relationship with Sean comes after the couple have been spotted putting on numerous public displays of affection.

As well as “making out like crazy” at the post-Oscar party of Sean’s ex-wife Madonna, the stars were seen “rigorously making out” at the Boom Boom Room at the Standard Hotel in New York City after the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala last week.
