FUNNYMAN Patrick Kielty kept it traditional when he married Cat Deeley in Rome at the weekend, flying his parish priest over from Co Down to officiate.

The pair married in St Isidore’s College church with close family and friends present, with one revealing they only found out about the wedding at the very last minute.

But Patrick managed to get local parish priest Father Gary Donegan to keep his trip to the Vatican a secret until the church.

The ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ host looked radiant in a ruffled white dress with plunging neckline and her hair was pinned back off her face with a garland of white flowers.

Patrick was low key in a black suit, white shirt and appeared to wear no tie.

The ceremony was top secret and just 60 friends and family were invited to attend.

Guests were offered flights to Rome on Friday and Saturday, paid for by the couple.

Cat's BBC Radio 1 DJ friend Edith Bowman (38) was a bridesmaid at the low-key affair.

The couple went public with their relationship at the start of the summer at the Glamour Magazine Women of the Year awards when Cat was snapped wearing a think gold band on her engagement finger.

The pair have been friends for more than a decade since meeting when they presented ‘Fame Academy’, but only got together as a couple last year when both became single.

Patrick relocated to LA and now lives with Cat in her Beverley Hills home which they recently renovated together and is featured in the current issue of In Style magazine.

Patrick refused to discuss their relationship when Ryan Tubridy quizzed him during an appearance on The Late Late Show 50th anniversary special in June.

However in an interview last year Patrick did hint that 2012 could be the year that the 42-year-old would get married saying: “I think that might be my New Year’s resolution… to get married.”

Many have read into Cat’s cryptic tweets for an insight into their relationship. Last Sunday the presenter tweeted a pic of herself and Patrick leaving the Emmys in LA hand in hand with the caption: “And then they lived..... Happily ever after. ..x.”

The undercover nuptials were not the only happy occasion over the weekend.

Hollywood star Anne Hathaway married her jewellery designer partner Adam Shulman (31) at Big Sur, California.

The Batman actress (29) wore a bespoke Valentino gown and a 1920s-inspired headband attached to a veil.

Meanwhile Kings of Leon bassist Jared Followill and his new wife, model Martha Patterson, kept their big day “rustic” and “low key” in Tennessee.

The bride wore a dress from Monique Lhullier, while the groom chose a Gucci suit.

And former Neighbours star Holly Valance tied the knot the knot to her billionaire beau Nick Candy in a lavish ceremony with 300 guests in Beverly Hills.

The bride (29) wore an extravagant white gown by J'Aton Couture with a full skirt and a long vintage lace train and the wealthy property developer wore a tuxedo by Dolce and Gabanna.
