RORY McIlroy’s former girlfriend appears to have upset his current girlfriend, Caroline Wozniacki at the weekend.

Holly Sweeney, who dated the golfer for six years before their split last year, was seen in an episode of Celebrity Come Dine With Me. The show had already aired in Ireland on TV3 but was only seen on Channel 4 on Saturday.

Student Holly hosted a ‘Golf Pros, Tennis Hoes’ theme for her dinner party on the show, which was attended by published Michael O’Doherty, models Pippa O’Connor and Madeleine Mulqueen and former rugby player Shane Byrne.

Danish tennis player Caroline appeared to have seen the programme as she tweeted from her official Twitter account:

“It’s amazing how some people can’t move on from the past and get on with their own lives,” she wrote.

The comment was then retweeted some 96 times by her 440,000 followers, with suggestions from them that the tennis player’s tweet was aimed at Holly.

It had been alleged previously that the golfer had texted his former girlfriend when he discovered that she planned to host the ‘Golf Pros, Tennis Hoes’ party and asked her not to go ahead with it.

“She was preparing the starter when her iPhone went off. A series of text messages arrived one after another and she just stopped dead in the kitchen,” a source on the programme said.

“She started laughing and said Rory had just discovered that she was having a tennis and golf themed night and asked her to back out of it. She just laughed and carried on cooking.”

Holly, who celebrated her 22nd birthday at the weekend, seemed unrepentant about upsetting the tennis player.

Peter Donaghy tweeted: “why did you choose a golf and tennis theme on 'come dine with me'?? Awful choice, move on #cringetv”

Holly then responded: “Learn to laugh at the past to move on. P.S. That’s at least a year old."

Holly had previously revealed that she had no idea that as she watched Wimbledon with her then boyfriend, that the tennis player would be her replacement. She told how the golfer told her he fancied Caroline, but she didn’t consider her a threat.

“I always suspected he had a thing for her. He’s always been a big fan of tennis. When he was watching the women’s games he always said he fancied her but I didn’t take that seriously. Little did I know,” she told RSVP magazine.

“It was Rory that ran away with Caroline – not the other way around – so I guess I blame Rory or both of them if I’m honest.”

Rory and Caroline, dubbed 'Wozzilroy, fell head over heels for each other after they were seated together to watch David Haye and Wladimir Klitschko in Germany on July 2.

And the pair didn't keep their feelings under wraps for long, sending each other flirty messages on Twitter.

The romance between the tennis champ and golf's biggest rising star has boosted the couple's marketability and earning power beyond their wildest dreams, with the couple boasting combined 2011 earnings from winnings and endorsements of close to €30m.
