Cloon Keen

Galway perfumer Cloon Keen has added to its range of scented candles with Étaín, which takes its inspiration from one of Ireland's most romantic myths, The Wooing of Étaín, about lovers destined to be together. Scent-wise, it's an enchanting blend of tuberose and jasmine with underlying notes of cedar and patchouli, ideal for summer days and nights. Cloon Keen also recently launched an 85pc ethanol hand sanitiser (€12), fragranced with fresh garden mint, ripe citrus fruit and armoise, to keep safe when soap and water isn't available, as well as smelling delightful.

BUY: Candle, €40; see cloonkeen.com

Designist bee pot

It's estimated that one third of Ireland's 97 wild bee species are threatened by extinction, but you can do your bit for our little friends by investing in a bee hotel. This charcoal, cast-concrete bee pot from Designist offers a safe place for bees to nest, as well as a space for planting bee-friendly flowers (they love geraniums and roses). It can sit on a balcony or window sill, or in a garden. BUY: €40, shop.designist.ie
