Weekend washout as heavy rain showers to continue
Grab your umbrellas and coats as the weekend washout will continue for most of next week.
Met Éireann forecaster John Eagleton said there will be “very unsettled” and wet weather for this weekend.
“Today will be windy with heavy rain showers spreading east by Monday evening,” John told Independent.ie.
According to Met Éireann, the strong winds and heavy rain in western areas will give way today to brighter conditions with sunny spells and a few scattered showers in the afternoon.
There will be heavy rain elsewhere for a time this afternoon, clearing eastwards by evening. Highest temperatures of 16 to 18 degrees Celsius.
Sunday will be a cool, bright and blustery day with sunny spells and showers. Highest temperatures of 13 to 15 degrees.
Keep umbrellas close as the rain will continue for most of next week.
“Tuesday is the only day next week that will be dry with a few rain showers. It will be windy with heavy rain for most of next week,” said John.
There doesn’t appear to be a respite from the heavy rain next weekend as the unsettled and wet weather will continue.
“It doesn’t look great for next weekend,” said John. "The weather will continue to be unsettled and changeable."
