There will be "typical Irish weather" for the rest of the week with a mixture of sunshine, rain and winds.

“The weather has changed and is much more unsettled. For the rest of the week it’s typically Irish,” according to Met Éireann forecaster Gerry Murphy.

This morning has seen a mixture of sunny spells and isolated showers but heavier showers are expected this evening.

Met Eireann are also predicting thundery showers as temperatures soar to 19 degrees.

Tomorrow will be much the same with fresh and gusty winds and temperatures ranging between 15 to 19 degrees.

For Friday the outlook is less certain but will likely see more showers and temperatures becoming a little cooler.

“It may be 15 to 18 degrees over the weekend. Not cold by any means but not as warm as recent days,” Mr Murphy added.

Friday will remain cool with top temperatures in the mid to high teens and winds are likely to be just light to moderate.

The weekend and early days of next week will also continue to be showery with some sunny spells.
