MET Eireann has warned that some hail or sleet showers will develop in eastern parts of the country with cold temperatures and mist elsewhere.
Widespread frost and icy patches will form with a few hail showers or snow flurries are likely near Irish Sea coasts
Temperatures will fall to between +1 and -3 degrees and with light easterly winds some freezing fog may form.
The cloud will be thick enough to give a few showers further inland too some hail or sleet showers will develop.
Wednesday will also be cold but any overnight frost, ice or fog slow will clear.
Highest temperatures will only climb to between 3 and 6 degrees in moderate easterly winds which will make it feel cooler.
