Keep your umbrella close as “dull and cloudy” weather is forecast for most of the week with rain in most parts of the country.

According to Met Éireann today will be cloudy with scattered showers across the country. Temperatures are expected to reach between 14 to 19 degrees.

"Conditions will improve towards the evening as showers will gradually become isolated and some sunny spells develop,” said Met Éireann.

Tonight will have scattered showers mostly in the western part of the country and mostly dry in the east with some clear spells. Lowest temperatures are 9 to 12 degrees.

Tomorrow will also be a cloudy day with scattered showers. In western coastal areas rain will develop during the later afternoon extending to all areas in the evening.

Highest temperatures will range tomorrow from 16 degrees in the north-west to 20 degrees in the south.

Wednesday will continue to be dull and cloudy with scattered showers.

Thursday will also have a dull start with persistent rain during the early morning and the rain will gradually move eastwards.

“There is no serious danger this week in the weather. It’s very bland with rain and scattered showers in most parts of the country,” said Met Éireann.
