‘You delivered your own baby,’ say retired midwives at Ireland’s National Maternity Hospital
International Day of the Midwife is on May 5th, celebrating the role midwives have played in ensuring safe and dignified births across the world. Margaret Hanahoe and Margaret Fanagan both worked for more than 40 years at The National Maternity Hospital on Holles Street in Dublin.
