A popular YouTube star almost drowned after a stunt involving a water balloon, a boat and a swimming pool went badly wrong.

Jack Tenney, a 20-tear-old professional skimboarder, has ammassed almost 9 million views for his videos, which usually involve playing pranks on unsuspecting members of the public

This video show the energetic star sitting in a giant water balloon as it is filled up with liquid, while precariously seated on a boat in swimming pool.

As the balloon swells, the weight causes the boat to capsize, meaning Tenney ended up in the water without the means to swim.

His friends quickly became alarmed and used a screwdriver to pop the balloon, freeing Tenney from his predicament.

Mr Tenney is not the only Youtuber to nearly drown while carrying out his own stunts, last month a teenager who jumped off Tower Bridge in London had to be rescued by emergency services.
