VIDEO: Mum watches daughter relearn to walk four times due to shared brittle bone condition
A mum has told how she has watched her five-year-old daughter learn to walk four times due to injuries caused by their shared brittle bone condition - and the little one must now avoid running or jumping for fear of breaking her limbs.
Stacy Mason, 36, from Evansville, Indiana, was born with Type V osteogenesis imperfecta (OI), a brittle bone condition characterised by a susceptibility to fractures - and passed the gene on to her daughter, Paige.
Her little girl broke her first bone at nine months old when she was learning to stand. While trying to pull herself up on a coffee table, she fell down and broke her tibia (shinbone) in her right leg after landing on it.
