VIDEO: Community band together to reopen their local shop

People in the adjoining villages of Moone and Timolin in Co Kildare had seen local businesses close in the past and were resolved not to lose a valuable local focal point. They raised an army of volunteers to take control of the shop and start a cafe as a community hub. Locals rolled up their sleeves to keep the premises in Moone open and protect their community spirit. Those willing to work a couple of hours each week include farmers, teachers, a solicitor, a garda, an electrician, an insurance worker, and many people who work at home and elsewhere.
