Upcycling enthusiast creates Guinness draught tap from old petrol pump

Glasnevin-based upcycling enthusiast, Stephen Hynes, has created a vast array of items using old materials.

Dubliner Stephen Hynes began turning scrap to gold several years ago in his home in Glasnevin.

His "hobby" first started as a way to fill solitary hours he built up from doing shift work.

Beds, garden sheds and toys for his son are just some of the items he's documented crafting on his Instagram page.

His Guinness-themed petrol pump is what he claims as his biggest project to date, taking 10 months to make, before being shared widely on social media.

"Every Guinness enthusiast has been saying they want this pump!" Stephen told Independent.ie.

Stephen appeared on RTE's The Big DIY Challenge this with this upcycled BBQ unit, which he built in just nine days.

The Big DIY Challenge airs on Thursday, 20:30, RTÉ One.
