Former Wales and Celtic frontman John Hartson seemed to see the funny side as hundreds of Irish fans cheered his name during last night's clash at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Commentating alongside former Republic of Ireland captain Andy Townsend, the 42-year-old was the centre of attention for a large group of playful Irish fans.
Speaking after Ireland's 1-0 victory knocked Wales out of the race to make next year's World Cup, Hartson said he expects Welsh boss Chris Coleman to stand down.
“Personally, I think he’ll walk away now,” Hartson told BBC 5 Live Sport. “He has been Wales’ most successful manager, I think.
“I know you might look to 1958, a World Cup quarter final, but to take this group of players into a semi-final of the Euros, to have come so close, taken it to the very last game to make the play-offs.
“They were not beaten in this campaign but obviously tonight is where it really mattered.”
