Rescue dog receives ‘animal OBE’ for outstanding service

This Border Collie named Skye is about to receive a great honour for a lifetime of outstanding devotion to her role as a mountain rescue search dog.

She is thought to be the oldest working dog of her kind, having been in service for 11 years, retiring aged 14.

During her career she carried out more that 200 searches of the British Lake District area.

The PDSA have awarded her a medal, dubbed the ‘Animal OBE’ for her outstanding devotion to duty.
