'Life will be incredibly repressive under the Taliban' - Expert warns as Afghanistan humanitarian crisis looms
Essex University Professor Natasha Lindstaedt, an expert on Afghanistan and authoritarian regimes, warns of a “humanitarian crisis in the making” as the Taliban regain control of Afghanistan. Prof Lindstaedt says that despite the militants' claim to have reformed, she imagines "life will still be very repressive under the Taliban".
