WATCH: Ireland's highest peak thick with snow as temperatures dive to -7c

Plummeting temperatures of as low as -7C will lead to a blanket of frost on roads and paths across the country today - and the cold snap is set to carry on for the rest of the week.

This video, posted on Facebook by Kerry Climbing, shows a group of people climbing Carrauntoohil mountain in Kerry thick with snow yesterday.

The 1,039m peak is Ireland's highest mountain, and it is surrounded by three spectacular valleys.

The spectacular clip shows the summit under a thick blanket of snow, as temperatures dip down to -7c.
