TuscanyBistro/David Raleigh

A Limerick restaurant owner says she has been forced to accept “cashless” transactions only in response to three break-ins in three months at the premises in the affluent Limerick suburb, Newtown, Castletroy. Video footage recorded on security cameras at Tuscany Bistro in Castletroy appears to show three men arriving in a white coloured Audi hatchback car at 2.34am on June 15th last. The footage appears to show one man with a pick axe, which is then used to force open a door at the side of the premises. Further footage from inside the restaurant appears to show two men attempting to kick open a door to the bar area. The footage also appears to show one man breaking in through an interior door with a pick axe. Footage also appears to show two men rifling through presses behind a cash register in the bar area, before they flee the premises with a third male.
