LISTEN: The Anglo Tapes that helped convict David Drumm

Anglo Irish Bank's disgraced former chief executive David Drumm has been jailed for six years for his part in a €7.2bn plot to defraud the markets during the 2008 financial crisis.

The Anglo Tapes revealed that it was January 2008 when crisis really set in as investors started to dump Anglo's bonds, severely disabling the bank's access to international wholesale markets. By March 2008, the first heavy blows tore through Anglo's facade.

'Because if they don't, don't give it to us on Monday they have a bank collapse, potentially' Drumm is heard noting in the tapes. He also refers to the 'shower of clowns down in Dame Street'.
