Greg O'Shea sends a Great Big Irish Thank You message of support to Ireland's frontline heroes

Love Island winner, rugby star and presenter Greg O'Shea has joined a host of Irish and international stars in paying tribute to Ireland's frontline workers.

O'Shea (25) recorded his message for Independent.ie ahead of The Great Big Irish Thank You, a show full of moving musical tributes and messages of support for those at the forefront of the battle against Covid-19 in Ireland.

"We've all shown a lot of national pride and we've come together and we've got through this pandemic together, so we need to keep going," says O'Shea.

"I just want to say thank you to all the Covid heroes, all the frontline workers who have gone out and fought hard for us, put themselves at risk, all for the good of the country."

He added, "I also want to say a personal 'thank you' to my own family, my aunts and uncles who have been taking great care of my grandfather who lives by himself in Limerick and, although his spirits are high, he still needs to be taken care of so thanks very much to you guys. I really appreciate that."
