Grand National enthusiast gets his own remix video

By now almost 500,000 people on Facebook alone have watched Mick’s techno-beat dance as he punched the are to cheer Noble Yeats home, standing on the turf opposite the finishing line at Aintree Racecourse near Liverpool in England.

Millions more have watched on TikTok and on television as his celebrations featured on the programmes covering the big race.

He says he felt like he rode the last three fences right there with him, as he watched a dream of a lifetime become reality at racing’s bona fide theatre of dreams. The moments that followed were the most exhilarating and special of his life in racing.

“It was a rollercoaster,” he said. “After the horse wins we walk back to the winning post and stand there for the photographers - that was electric now. Maybe 100 photographers taking our photos. Then we walk up along the stands and the crowds are shouting for us, for Sam (Waley-Cohen, jockey) really. It was all about Sam. But the real moment it hits you is still to come. Just as you come into the parade ring a huge bugle sounds. It’s so loud it shakes you. You know it’s real then.”
