A video widely circulated online shows an Australian boy proudly showing off a fish he had caught while spearfishing with his father; before a small shark can be seen jumping out of the water and attempting to bite the boy.
Manni, 8, was bitten, but thankfully the shark's teeth failed to penetrate his wetsuit.
The video of the incident has gone viral and has also made television news in Australia.
However, the segment also received a lot of criticism. Many viewers suspect that the footage was staged with a dead or fake shark to promote Manni's father's fishing business.
“Impossible”, said Radwan; the father of the boy. “Anyone who has ever dived knows that sharks are always lurking.”
